About our Founder, Claire:
I was born in Milwaukee, WI, and moved through Illinois before settling in Grand Rapids, MI, for high school. Throughout my childhood and high school years, I played competitive lacrosse and rowed. I graduated as valedictorian from my high school in Grand Rapids and was accepted into the College of Science at the University of Arizona with academic distinction awards. At U of A, I am actively involved in STEM and healthcare-related extracurriculars, eager to deepen my education and experiences. My goal is to attend medical school directly after graduation to pursue a career in oncology.
My passion for medicine began at a young age. I was always curious, always asking questions. At age 12, I founded Pediatric Cancer Heroes after learning about children battling cancer. Even as a kid, I recognized how overlooked childhood cancer was, and I felt compelled to act. Through PCH, I strive to educate the public, support families in need, and advocate for children facing cancer. I believe every child deserves a future, and that belief fuels my work every day. I am truly honored to stand alongside incredible families and advocates in this fight.
